Werewolves of Miller's Hollow

Werewolves of Miller's Hollow is a social deduction game where players take on different roles in a village terrorized by werewolves. The game was designed by Philippe des Pallières and Hervé Marly and was first released in 2001. It is inspired by the classic party game Mafia.

The Walk of the Game

• Player roles: Each player is assigned a secret role as either villager or werewolf, with some special roles such as psychic, hunter, witch, and others with unique abilities.
• Night Phase: At night, all players close their eyes and the werewolves "wake up" to choose a victim to eliminate. If there are other special roles, they also perform their actions at night.
• Day phase: During the day, the players discuss and try to find out who the werewolves are. They then vote to eliminate a suspect player.

Goal

• Villagers: The villagers' goal is to identify and eliminate all the werewolves before they themselves are exterminated.
• Werewolves: The werewolves' goal is to eliminate the villagers until they are in the majority or there are not enough villagers left to oppose them.

Special roles

Some of the special roles include:

• Psychic: Can once per night learn a player's role.
• Witch: Has two potions - one that can save a player from death and one that can kill a player.
• Hunter: Can take another player with them in death if they are eliminated.

Social Interactions

The game's main focus is on social interaction and strategy. Players must use persuasion, lies, and deduction to achieve their goals. This creates a dynamic and often intense gaming environment.
