Viticulture Essential Edition takes you to Tuscany, where you and the other players have inherited small, modest vineyards. Your task is to transform the vineyard into a successful wine producer. You start with a few resources: a small piece of land, a wine cellar and some workers. Throughout the year you will plan carefully and send the workers out on various tasks such as planting grapes, harvesting the crop and producing wine.

The game is divided into seasons, and you have to think strategically to take advantage of the best opportunities in each season. Visiting guests can give you important advantages and you need to use your resources wisely to build your winery, gain points and win over the other players. The goal is to develop the winery into a successful business by producing, storing and selling wine, and attracting customers to the winery.
